Open Position: Network Technician

Full-Time (40.00 hours per week) | Monday-Friday

FLSA Non-Exempt: $21.00-$28.00 per hour
(based on qualifications and experience)

You are a customer-focused problem solver with existing technical skills and a desire to learn more about networking. You have a gift for explaining complex issues in simple terms and are committed to delivering solutions that leave customers satisfied. With a foundational understanding of networking, you’re comfortable with the basics of troubleshooting, installing equipment, and ensuring seamless connectivity. You are organized, professional, and strive to meet safety and industry standards. You enjoy hands-on work, using basic tools, and maintaining clear communication. Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance:
    Install, maintain, and optimize networking equipment for both residential and business customers. You will determine the best placement for equipment, perform installations, connect, test, and adjust as required to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshooting:
    Test and troubleshoot computer networks and Wi-Fi systems. You will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or network issues, replacing defective components as necessary.

  • Customer Engagement:
    Address customer needs promptly and courteously to ensure a positive experience. You will review service quality and perform adjustments or fixes to uphold our commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate records of inventory used and ensure that the company vehicle is well-stocked with necessary equipment and supplies.

  • Field Work:
    Travel to job sites in a company-provided vehicle, ensuring compliance with all federal and state driving laws and regulations.

  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other related tasks as assigned to support team objectives.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Interpersonal Skills:
    Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. You should be able to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers.

  • Networking Knowledge:
    A basic understanding of computer networking is required. Familiarity with IP addressing, connectivity testing, and DNS preferred.

  • Organizational Skills:
    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage tasks effectively.

  • Problem-Solving:
    Ability to analyze problems and find practical solutions.

  • Tool Proficiency:
    Competence with basic tools, including drills, screwdrivers, and network cable tools.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Always adhere to company safety standards and policies.

  • Technical Proficiency:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Driver Requirements:
    Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.

  • Background Check:
    Must have a clear criminal record and meet ongoing background check requirements in line with company standards.

  • Work Authorization:
    Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Ability to Commute/Relocate:
    Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    Degree or certificate in Information Technology or a related field; prior experience as an electrician, computer lab technician, or in network infrastructure installation is preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking, including ascending and descending stairs.
  • Occasional use of a step or extension ladder (up to 30 ft high).
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely and legally drive a company-provided vehicle.
  • This position requires onsite work; telework is not eligible.
