2 Gigabit Performance in a Classic Concord Home
A homeowner in Concord was paying for 2 Gigabit internet service but experienced weak, unreliable signals and dropping connections. By designing a system around the home’s 1931 structure, we delivered an extremely positive experience with seamless results.
The Challenge
The primary problem was a “weak, unreliable signal and poor performance” throughout the 3,202 square foot residence. Despite having high-speed fiber service, the customer found that connections were dropping and speeds were only acceptable when in the same room as the ISP router.
Our Approach
We follow the principle: Design for the home, not the box. Instead of relying on a single router to penetrate 1930s construction, we utilized the home’s existing COAX wiring. Our technicians, Juwann and Jacob, implemented a MoCA backbone to connect three eero Pro 7 routers, ensuring a high-speed wired return path without the need for extensive new construction. One new Cat6 cable was professionally ran to the basement gaming area to support high-bandwidth demands.
The Results
| Location | Before (Xfinity Gateway) | After (eero Pro 7 System) |
| Living Room | 479 Mbps | 1000+ Mbps (Warp Speed) |
| Family Room | 197 Mbps | 721 Mbps |
| Gym (Basement) | 128 Mbps | 850 Mbps |
| Play Room | 195 Mbps | 1000+ Mbps (Warp Speed) |
| Garage | 21 Mbps | 155 Mbps |

Before and After Wi-Fi performance survey showing improvement across all floors.
Outcome
The “Internet connection is much improved throughout the home,” providing the reliable 6 GHz coverage required for a modern household. The work was “completed in a very timely and satisfactory manner,” resulting in a high-performance, “set it and forget it” system.
Why MVWFP
Most Wi-Fi issues are design problems, not equipment failures. We fix what DIY systems and ISPs cannot by assessing the home as a system. Our Sage-led approach ensures that homeowners in larger, demanding homes can finally stop troubleshooting and simply rely on their connection.
